About the Author
Ozan Dagdeviren believes in a future in which technology depends on "human sciences" more and more. The main focus of his works are human behaviour, critical thinking, art of happiness and social redesign. During his academic and professional career, he has taken every possible chance to get better at "behaviour analysis"; seeing the person as a complex system and trying to understand it at all levels. He's the author of the book Tough: Happiness Through Critical Thinking (2015), published in print and regularly organizes trainings and workshops around the topic. He has gained his academic education in the areas of Sociology, Psychology and Communication Studies, completing his thesis on changing technologies and societal implications. He has worked in a variety of professional settings including the Behavioural Sciences Institute, Market Research, Executive Search and Professional Recruitment among other Human Resources roles.

brand new approach

For readers looking for a brand new journey into an enjoyable interview process instead of well-experienced basics of recruitment, I would recommend this book for it has great ideas with different perspectives. It is indeed true that most of the interview processes are somewhat framed in standardized steps but there should be a mix of human interaction with the “talent”! At first glance you might assume that the suggested Model consists of common do’s and don’ts of recruitment. Just the opposite. I think it goes beyond to the social and psychological thinking with a human-centric perspective.

you may not need a PhD to be recruiter but you do need the methodology, the principles and some matured set of skills to find the best candidate and unerstand his psychology when conducting the interview. and i believe the pinnacle model is a comprehensive and powerful way to improve the quality of your hires mainly by understanding and assessing the interviewee form a different and unique perspective. good thing is that you can treat the model as your go-to guide and in the long term try to apply the steps in your interviews as precisely as possible; or you may just go ahead and pay attention only to specific sections where you will find very interesting clues from author's personal field experience.
giving the information in the book is genuine and based on the combination of theory and practice it will differentiate from the popular reads on the subject and also the material you may find on the internet.
I found the metaphors that argue with "traditional recruitment" quite spot on as i think they help to realize how generally accepted methods in the industry can lack creativity and efficiency.
no matter whether you are new to the recruitment or you are already an experienced recruiter, this book will change the way you perceive hiring.

I found this book to be extremely insightful and especially useful for business owners and employers. Human labor is one of the most important things in the modern economy and many people overlook that. From candidate psychology, to the pinnacle model, Ozan Dagdeviren breaks down and redefines the recruitment process for us in this book, and I definitely consider this a must read for any recruiter or hiring manager!
